Beech Mountain Ski Resort
Beech Mountain Resort opened in 1967 and is the highest ski area in Eastern America. We are lucky to have this minutes from each of our doorsteps. The trails range from Green (easy) to Black Diamond (most difficult). Peak elevation is 5,506 feet. The resort is complete with tubing, restaurants, sport shops, rental facility and lots of alpine ambience. During peak periods we recommend purchasing lift tickets in advance.

Sugar Mountain Resort
Sugar Mountain Resort is located less than 30 minutes from all Sun of a Beech Properties. Their slopes range from Green (easy) to Double Black Diamond (extremely difficult). Other resort activities include tubing, ice skating, mountain biking and scenic chair lifts. A bar and restaurant with slope views make it a fun stop for non-skiers too. You can purchase advance lift tickets the night before at their on-site ticket window.

Beech Mountain Free Sledding Hill
The Town of Beech Mountain maintains a free sledding hill Designed for kids ages 12 and under, parents or other responsible adults are allowed on sleds with preschoolers. Natural snow is enhanced by a snow gun when needed, so there’s plenty of good sledding to go around.
